We just wrapped up a visit to Outdoor Retailer (the biggest climbing trade show) where we heard about a ton of new and exciting climbing gear coming out in 2014. We captured a TON of video to share with you and are currently editing it as fast as we can.
We wanted to give you a taste of the new videos to come by creating a whirlwind tour of the highlights from the show in the video above.
If you can’t see the video above check out Vimeo or Youtube. Or subscribe to our Vimeo and YouTube channels to see more videos.
Coming up we’ll have individual videos (showing even more gear, and tons more details) from DMM, Tendon, Millet, Misty Mountain, Omega Pacific, SMC, Sterling, Wild Country, Mammut, Black Diamond, Trango, Edelrid, and Liberty Mountain presenting Beal, Cypher, and Kong.
We’ll showcase all the new 2014 climbing gear and highlight some other particularly cool products as well.
When the videos are up we’ll link them in this blog post and we’ll also have individual blog posts for each brand, so you’re sure not to miss them! Or if you don’t want to keep checking back, you can subscribe to our Youtube or Vimeo Channels.

Hey WeighMyRack! I’m in the market for a new overnight pack for alpine rock/snow in the 55 liter range. Run into any encouraging technology or brands at the show I should look out for? Light but tough and supportive is the holy grail. 🙂 Thanks for the awesome video!

PS The “brogressive” t-shirt in an earlier video is most excellent. 😛
Hi Meredith!
We actually didn’t look at too many packs at the show–we pretty much just spent 9-5 in the climbing area filming!
But I’d be happy to talk packs, some things that make a big difference are torso length (like Deuter, Millet and Mammut all tend to be pretty long in the torso), and how streamlined you want your pack (lots of pockets? super clean? 1-3 well-placed pockets?), and any must have specs (ie: be able to carry skis as well).
Send some more details to my email (alison@weighmyrack.com) and I’ll be glad to talk some more shop!
