Personal anchors, most commonly referred to as PAS (Personal Anchor Systems), are a fast way attach yourself to an anchor. While there are certainly ways to not buy/use a PAS, many climbers find them helpful, particularly while single pitch cragging. Most brands make a type of personal anchor such as a lanyard or the more traditional chain style, but it’s less common for them to make both.
