At the 2013 Outdoor Retailer Trade Show we caught up with Maro LaBlance and Elliott Bates from Millet. They gave us the lowdown on their newest climbing rope, the Opposite 9/10.

If you can’t see the video above check out Vimeo or Youtube. Otherwise, if you want to see more gear videos subscribe to our Vimeo and YouTube channels.

If you’re at work and can’t watch the video, here’s the quick pitch: a bright green 80m rope that has two diameters. 30m of 10mm rope and 50m of 9mm rope. There is a half-way mark (it does not come in bicolor/bipattern) for rappelling but no obvious marking where the diameter changes. It’s dry-treated the same as all their Triaxiale ropes (which also means a beefier sheath and a braided core).

The rope is ideal for those projecting routes as you have a bigger diameter to catch lots of falls and then can turn to the light-weight performance side for maximum help to send your project.
