WeighMyRack Launch Party

Yay!

We launched!

Yippee!

We had a blast on Tuesday officially launching WeighMyRack. We’d like to send a huge thank you to our gracious host Seattle Bouldering Project (SBP’s Facebook) for offering their mezzanine. Having all our friends come out to wish us luck on the next leg of our journey was super energizing and we’ve hit the road with lots of pep and excitement.

Sure, WeighMyRack has been live for about a year, but it’s been online since we just had nut tools and carabiners. Now we’re excited to feature all the basic climbing gear and traditional protection too! Ropes and bouldering pads will definitely be up next month as well.

The last year has been a lot of groundwork, securing relationships with manufacturers and creating processes to help get gear online more efficiently. Laying the foundation for the exciting things to come (like actually weighing your rack!). Since launching we’ve already hit the road–we slept in the parking lot after the launch party and hit the road early the next morning headed to Idaho.

We Will Not Miss Seattle Traffic

While on the road we want to produce a ton of gear videos. Explaining how to choose the right gear, telling the stories behind the gear, showing the production of gear, and even the use of gear. We want to partner with seasoned climbers, local legends, retail shops and guiding organizations for this. We also want to film YOU, talking about your favorite gear and why you like it so much.

We also just launched a partnership with the Access Fund, but that’s a whole other story. We’ll start by giving a serious shout-out to all the generous sponsors for their donations to our Access Fund Raffle that happened at the Launch Party:

And those who helped feed our tummies!

Our plan is to tour the country in the WeighMyRack World Headquarters while stopping by festivals and following the sun. Let us know if you have any suggestions where we should go and if you want to visit along the way!

In the meantime, enjoy a few photos from the Launch Party! We were so busy during it we only got a few shots from the very beginning and the very end.
